My Aunty Marie

Where do I begin, how do I say goodbye to someone who has been in my life since I was born?
I’m proud to have Marie as my middle name. She was always smiling, laughing and telling stories of what we all did toghether as a family. She was especially close to her sisters Angela and Mary so we spent a lot of time together at family dos, in each others houses and on holidays home and abroad.
As a teenager, Marie would pick my Mom, Angela, my sister Pauline and I up every Saturday in Nuneaton to go shopping in her mini. How did we all cram back into it on the way home! Marie loved clothes so always bought a new outfit along with the 2 houses’ food shopping for a week. Sometimes Clara the crazy dog too!
Earlier memories of Brierley Hill with the rest of her brothers, their wives and all my cousins in 115 Dudley Road are special to me too in Nanny and Grandad Healy’s house.
Sunday dinners all together, team effort getting everything just right with Ma Scuffill and Sindy the dog.
I know everyday she either talked or thought of Colin, remembering him and the great life they had together even after 40 years since his untimely passing.
Sadlly not having children of her own she poured love onto her friends children, her nieces and nephews and now our children also.
I know my children have always been glad she has been there for them, not only at Christmas and Birthdays but everyday.

I’ll  miss popping in to see if you need anything, only to be told. “Dont worry I can do it. I’ve got all day.” So strong, so independent and so loved.

A cappuccino and a brandy will always be a toast to your memory. Together now with Colin. Rest In Peace. xxxxxxx
